Mumbai: The special POCSO court has sentenced three men to twenty years imprisonment for raping and impregnating daughter of their friend in 2015. The victim girl was thought to be 19 years old, but her mental age was said to be very less as she was intellectually disabled since her birth.
The case was registered by the paternal aunt of the victim with whom the girl was residing. The girl’s father and brother were staying out of the city. During February and March, the victim’s mother noticed that the victim had missed her menstrual cycle. Therefore, she conducted a test through pregnancy strips, which showed positive.
The girl revealed that friends of her father used to assault her. They used to offer her money and vada pav to do such an act. She later, with the help of her family, identified the accused, and a case with the Sakinaka police was registered.
The pregnancy was terminated, and samples were collected for a DNA test. Investigating officer arrested the accused, sent them for medical examination, and collected samples for a DNA test. The investigation revealed that all the accused with their common intention committed offence of gang rape.
