Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Traffic police have implemented diversions across key routes in view of the Karbala Mela at Dhobi Ghat, organised on the occasion of Muharram. The government Tazia procession will begin on Sunday at 2 pm from Imambada and will pass through Subhash Chowk, Rajwada, Prince Yeshwant Road, Machhi Bazaar, Pandrinath, Harsiddhi, Moti Tabela, and Collectorate Square, before culminating at Karbala Ground.
Given the expected heavy turnout at the Karbala ground and along the procession route, traffic police have arranged alternate routes to ensure smooth movement of vehicles, particularly for heavy vehicles and four-wheelers.
Trucks and mini-trucks heading to or from Transport Nagar will be diverted through Choithram Mandi Square, Rajendra Nagar Bridge, and Narmada Square to connect with the Ring Road.
Public transport buses and four-wheelers traveling from Bhanwarkuan and Tower Chouraha to Mhow Naka Square will follow a diversion through Tower Square, Palasia, Manikbag Bridge, Rajiv Gandhi Square, Rajendra Nagar, Utsav Hotel, Gopur Square, and Phuti Kothi to reach Mhow Naka and Gangwal Bus Stand.

Similarly, vehicles traveling from Palasia toward Mhow Naka, Annapurna, and Phuti Kothi should take the route through Manikbag Bridge, Choithram Mandi and Kesarbagh Railway Crossing.
Once all Tazias have entered Karbala, and depending on the traffic pressure in the area, private four-wheelers and two-wheelers heading toward Mhow Naka may be routed via Hemu Colony, Harsiddhi, Machhi Bazaar, Yeshwant Road, Raj Mohalla, and then toward Mhow Naka. Similarly, vehicles coming from Annapurna Road and Phuti Kothi toward Yeshwant Road may take the route from Mhow Naka via Gangwal Square, Bada Ganpati Square, and Subhash Marg.
Four-wheelers and two-wheelers travelling from Bhanwarkuan and Tower Square toward Mhow Naka can use the Old RTO Road, Kesarbagh Railway Crossing, and Choithram Square to proceed toward Tower Square and Bhanwarkuan. Additionally, city buses will not operate on Rajwada and Jawahar Marg after 11 am. Buses that normally travel via Jawahar Marg will instead take the route via Mrignayani and Subhash Marg.
The traffic police have urged public to use the designated alternate routes and cooperate with the temporary arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic and public safety during the Muharram procession.
