Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore contractor has formally objected to a viral social media video that he says misrepresents his family's home as being constructed with 24-karat gold, calling it a misleading and sensationalised portrayal that has harmed his family's reputation.
In a letter dated July 1, Anoop Agrawal of Goyal Nagar addressed content creator Priyam Saraswat, who recently uploaded an Instagram reel featuring Agrawal’s residence.
While acknowledging the creator’s interest in showcasing unique homes, Agrawal alleged the video implied—either directly or indirectly—that his was constructed with 24k gold, which is factually incorrect.

Agrawal clarified that while the house includes decorative golden-coloured elements and a few gold-plated artifacts in the drawing room, there are no gold walls, sockets or structural features as portrayed. He also pointed out that during the filming, his family had shared details about their lifestyle that were omitted from the final video.
These included the fact that the house is 16 years old and not a new construction and that they are a joint family living with ‘strong traditional values, simplicity and spirituality.’
Agrawal further noted that a substantial part of their conversation had focused on affordable housing initiatives and their commitment to ‘cow sewa’ (cow service), none of which was reflected in the published video.
‘The video, in its current form, presents a sensationalised and one-sided view, which is leading to misunderstanding and unwanted public attention,’ Agrawal wrote. He expressed confidence that the misleading presentation was unintentional but urged the creator to address the matter with due seriousness given its impact on the family’s image.
The letter concludes with a request for understanding and cooperation in correcting the record.
