"He was just getting the ball to move both ways" - Shubman Gill on Akash Deep
At the post-game presentation, Shubman Gill heaped praise on Akash Deep for bowling with so much heart and producing the goods on an almost lifeless surface. Gill said:
"I think he [Akash Deep] bowled with so much heart and the areas and the lengths that he hit, he was just getting the ball to move both ways. On wickets like these, it's very difficult to get the ball moving in both directions and he was able to do that. He was just magnificent for us."
The 336-run victory was also Team India's biggest overseas win in terms of runs and their first at Edgbaston. The third Test begins on July 10 at the Lord's Cricket Ground.
