Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A restaurant and an adjacent cafe were gutted when a fire broke out on 80-feet road under Ashoka Garden police station in the wee hours on Saturday. Locals and fire fighters doused the fire after several efforts.
According to reports, fire erupted at a cafe and soon spread to an adjacent restaurant. Locals rushed to the spot and tried dousing the fire but it took a massive form following which they called fire department.
Local residents claimed that the restaurant and the cafe were gutted by the time fire tenders reached the scene. Fire fighters took an hour in containing the fire.
Ashoka Garden thana incharge Hemant Srivastava said a leakage in the LPG cylinder followed by a short circuit caused the fire.
In another incident, a van parked near Kamla Park suddenly caught fire on Saturday evening. Locals tried dousing the fire but it soon engulfed the vehicle. Fire fighters reached the spot and controlled it. However, the vehicle was gutted by then.
Bank, Car Showroom Fined For Improper Waste Disposal
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has slapped a total fine of Rs 25,000 on two major establishments — a nationalised bank and a car showroom — for improper and illegal disposal of waste.
The action came after residents near the 1250 Hospital area reported open garbage burning on the premises of bank's branch. Responding swiftly, the Assistant Health Officer (AHO) of Zone 7 inspected the location and imposed a fine of Rs Rs 5,000 on the bank for openly burning waste, violating municipal regulations.
In another case, a joint team from BMC Zones 8 and 13 penalised Rajpal Toyota showroom in Misrod with a fine of Rs 20,000 for dumping trash near the Khushi Lal area. The inspection, led by the AHO of Zone 8, found the car dealership guilty of flouting waste disposal norms and issued an official challan.
