Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 Puja Muhurat: Shri Ganesh ji has a supreme place in the traditions of Sanatan Dharma. When is Ganesh Chaturthi 2025?
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 27 August 2025, a Wednesday. According to the Panchang, the auspicious time for Ganesh installation and midday worship on this day will be from 11:05 am to 01:40 pm. That is, you will get about two and a half hours to install and worship Ganesha. Since Ganesha is believed to have been born in the afternoon, worshiping him at this time is especially fruitful.
How to install and worship Ganpati?
After bathing in the morning, first take a resolution to fast and worship.
Spread a yellow cloth on a stool in the north-east direction of the house.
Install the idol of Ganesha, sprinkle Gangajal on him, and anoint him.
Offer sindoor, durva (21 leaves), red flowers, modak, laddu, coconut, sugarcane, fruits, and naivedya to Ganpati.
Recite Ganesh Chalisa, Atharvashirsha, or Ganpati Stotra.
At the end of the puja, perform aarti of Ganesh ji with bell, conch, and manjira.
This puja process is repeated in the evening as well, so that the worship of Ganesh ji continues throughout the day. After the puja, give food and a donation to a Brahmin and then eat the food yourself.
Importance of Ganesh Chaturthi
According to Hindu religious belief, Lord Ganesha was born on the day of Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi at noon, which is why this date and time are considered extremely auspicious. He is the first to be worshipped, the giver of wisdom, and the god who removes obstacles. No religious work, marriage, journey, or new work is started without a Ganpati puja. Devotees wait for this day throughout the year as this day is full of celebration, devotion, and joy for them.

When will Ganpati Visarjan happen?
Ganesh Chaturthi puja can be for one day or it can last for ten days. Most people worship Ganeshji for one day, three days, five days, or ten days. The puja concludes with Ganpati Visarjan, which takes place on the day of Anant Chaturdashi.
This year, Ganpati Visarjan will happen on 6 September 2025 (Saturday). On this day, devotees bid farewell to Bappa with drums and devotional songs. It is believed that on this day Ganeshji fulfills the wishes of all the devotees and blesses them with happiness and prosperity.
