Railways updates schedule of 3rd Vande Bharat train: Full route, new timings, stoppages & ticket price inside

Indian Railways has revised the schedule of the country’s third Vande Bharat Express, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 September 2022. Operated and maintained by the Western Railway zone, this semi-high-speed train connects Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital, offering passengers a swift and comfortable journey.

Route, Distance and Travel Time

The Mumbai Central–Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express (train numbers 20901/20902) runs six days a week, with Wednesday as its weekly holiday. Covering a distance of 521 km, the train completes its journey in just 6 hours and 30 minutes, making it one of the fastest options on this route.

Stoppages on the Route

The Vande Bharat Express will now halt at eight stations instead of seven, with Navsari being the latest addition. The train stops at:

  • Borivali
  • Vapi
  • Valsad
  • Navsari
  • Surat
  • Vadodara Junction
  • Anand Junction
  • Ahmedabad Junction
Timings of the Train

From Mumbai Central (20901): Departs at 06:00 hrs, arrives at Gandhinagar Capital at 12:25 hrs.
From Gandhinagar Capital (20902): Departs at 14:05 hrs, reaches Mumbai Central at 20:30 hrs.

Coach Composition

The train is made up of 20 modern coaches, offering two types of seating: AC Chair Cars and Executive Chair Cars. These coaches are designed to provide comfort and efficiency, making long journeys feel shorter and more relaxed.

Travelling on this premium train comes with two fare options:
  • AC Chair Car: Rs 1,285
  • Executive Chair Car: Rs 2,465
