Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 5 (ANI): Kickstarting his campaign for the 2024 Assembly elections, Shiv Sena MP and the party's candidate from Worli Assembly seat, Milind Deora interacted with locals in a morning walk session on Tuesday.
Milind Deora is pitted against sitting MLA from Shiv Sena (UBT) Aaditya Thackeray.

Highlighting the party's vision, Deora said that PM Modi wants to make India a 5 trillion economy in which 20 per cent of the contribution will be from Maharashtra.

On his candidature from the Worli seat, Deora said that he understands the issues of South Mumbai and has a strong relationship with the people of the area.

"We understand the issues of South Mumbai. We hold a strong relationship with the people of South Mumbai. Today, the people want India to move forward...Maharashtra will play a big role in moving India forward. PM Modi has a vision to make India a 5 trillion economy. In it, 20% of the contribution will be from Maharashtra," Deora said while speaking to ANI.

"If we want to attract investors in Mumbai and increase job opportunities, then we have to improve the infrastructure of Mumbai. Maharashtra government is working in this direction," he added.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday campaigned for Shiv Sena's candidate from Worli Assembly constituency, Milind Deora.

CM Shinde assured the people about the government's agenda for the development of the area.

"Worlikar (People of Worli) did not get the justice that he was supposed to get for the last 5 years and our Mahayuti candidate Milind Deora will work to get justice to the people. No project will stop in Worli. Whether it is a project from slum to police courts, it will not stop. There is an agenda of development in Worli." CM Shinde said.

Earlier on October 29 while filing his nomination against Uddhav Thackeray's son Aaditya Thackeray, Milind Deora said that his only aim is to deliver justice to the voters of the constituency, highlighting that his fight is a political one, not personal.

"This is not a personal fight; it is a political fight. Our aim is only one: we have to deliver justice to the voters of Worli. We have to take Mumbai and Maharashtra forward. Unfortunately, the way a fake narrative has been spread against the government in the last 2-3 years, we have to bust that narrative...Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is very enthusiastic about solving the problems of the people of Worli," Deora told ANI.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.

Opposition MVA, comprising of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), is looking to reclaim power in the state against the Mahayuti alliance, which consists of three parties--Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ajit Pawar-led NCP. (ANI)
