Ayushman card was started under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana. It was started in the year 2018. The objective of this scheme is to provide free treatment to the needy and poor people.

There is no age limit for this scheme. Along with this, there is no direct rule regarding salary. However, according to the income certificate, to avail of the benefits of the Ayushman Card Scheme, the annual income of the person should be Rs 1.5 lakh or less.

Under this card, beneficiaries can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for any kind of serious illness. However, some hospital-related treatments are not included under this card.

These treatments are not covered in the card.

If the beneficiary has a disease which can be treated in OPD

For this, he does not need to be admitted to the hospital. In such a situation, insurance coverage will not be available.

Private OPDs are also not included in the insurance coverage.

If you go to the hospital only to get tests done, then this will also not be included in the insurance cover.

However, if you go for some tests after seeing the doctor, then these come under the insurance cover.

What are the benefits of Ayushman Card?

Under this scheme, 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days of post-hospitalization are included.

All tests are included under this scheme.

Along with this, the expenses on medicines are also included.

At the same time, food and drink during hospitalization will also be covered in the insurance.

Apart from this, some limits have also been kept regarding eligibility.

Who will not get the benefit of the card?

Ayushman Card has been started especially for the poor and needy people. Those who work in the organized sector or those who pay their taxes on time will not be able to take advantage of this card.

Along with this, if you take advantage of ESIC or PF is deducted from your salary, then also you will not be able to avail the benefits of the scheme. At the same time, those in government jobs will also not be able to avail the benefits of this card.
