The central government is working on a plan to open Anganwadis along with schools by implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Actually, NEP 2020 has made provision for school education in a 5+3+3+4 format, in which there is a provision to provide education for the first three years of pre-school in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). NEP 2020 states that universal access to high-quality ECCE will be ensured across the country. In line with this, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Women and Child Development have given guidelines for starting Anganwadi centers along with schools.
