Woman can't stop cringing after employer spots unfortunate detail in her email signature

Many of us keep the same email addresses for years, which can end up coming back to bite you.

If you set up an email account with an unfortunate name when you were a child, you've probably changed it in a bid to look more professional as an adult.

But one area you may have forgotten to check is your email signature, which is exactly what happened to this woman. Jessica Stahle, from Los Angeles, had unwittingly been sending out a cringey message for 10 years.

She took to TikTok to reveal her manager confronted her about her email signature dedicated to Canadian pop star Justin Bieber. Awkward!

Sharing the unfortunate moment on TikTok, Jessica said: "How many aura points did I lose when I found out today that every email I've sent since I was 10 from my primary email has the auto signature 'I'm in love with Justin Bieber's new haircut!!!!!!!~' (The only reason I found out is because my manager brought it up)."

Clarifying how the blunder happened in the first place, Jessica said she typically sends emails from her phone. In a follow-up clip, she explained: "I did know that I had this signature on my email, but I thought that it was optional because when I went onto my laptop and emailed people from there. It showed it at the bottom and I just simply deleted it every single time on my iPhone, which is where I spend most of my emails from now.

"My job doesn't really involve a lot of emailing, it's just more like confirming, okay, I'll be there at this time. Back and forth. It just says at the bottom, sent from my iPhone nothing about a signature."

Jessica concluded with some words of warning for her viewers. She added: "Take this as a cautionary tale to just double-check your Gmail settings and make sure that your auto signature is what you would like it to be."

And thankfully, people found the situation pretty hilarious. One TikTok user said: "I’m dying laughing," while another commented: "I can’t believe nobody told you."

Meanwhile, someone else added: "Not the point but the thought of using my personal email as my work email is horrifying."
