Tottenham missed out on the chance to go second in the Premier League table after Manchester United scored a heartbreaking 96th-minute equaliser during their clash in the capital on Saturday.
Thomas Frank’s team thought they had snatched victory late on when Richarlison headed past Senne Lammens in injury time. However, just five minutes later, the home fans were silenced as Matthijs de Ligt nodded in a goal of his own.
Both teams had the opportunity to leapfrog each other into second place. After the result, Tottenham sit third ahead of the weekend’s remaining fixtures, while United lie seventh, with both sides on 18 points.

It’s not the result Frank would have wanted heading into the international break. A win would have made Spurs’ next match, the first north London derby of the season, a golden chance to close the gap on league leaders Arsenal.
Spurs are level on points with top-four contenders Liverpool and United, with Chelsea close behind on 17 points. The remaining fixtures this weekend could shake up the standings further.
With that in mind, football.london have compared Spurs’ next five domestic fixtures with those of their closest Premier League rivals.
