Ruben Amorim gives fresh Alejandro Garnacho Man Utd update amid Chelsea transfer links

Ruben Amorim has given a fresh update on Alejandro Garnacho amid speculation the Manchester United star could leave the club in the summer.

The 20-year-old, who finished the campaign with 21 goal contributions in 58 appearances, has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford for a number of months. The winger was heavily linked with a move to in the January transfer window and has been in and out of the team under since his arrival.

After coming on for the final 20 minutes of the Garnacho even hinted he could bid farewell to Manchester this summer. Speaking to ESPN Argentina (via the ) he said: "I played every round to help the team reach the final, and today I only got 20 minutes... I don't know. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next."

Garnacho is currently with the squad for their post-season tour and featured in the Red Devils' defeat to an ASEAN All-Stars XI in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on Wednesday. The Argentinian is expected to play some part against Hong Kong on Friday.

"It is not a surprise," Amorim told reporters when asked about Garnacho's presence on the tour, as per the "He is a player of Manchester United, all the players are here. Some players are injured and it was better for them not to fly here to play these two games. It is a normal situation."

Asked if Garnacho and club captain Bruno Fernandes will feature on Friday, Amorim added: "Yes, I heard that. If the players are available, I am going to put the players to play.

"I will try to divide [the team] because I don't want all the young kids together. I don't know if they will play together. I am trying to balance the team, but if they are fit, they will play We will have the maximum respect for everybody here."

Garnacho's teammate, Amad Diallo, also spoke ahead of Friday's match and revealed he hopes Garnacho will remain a Man Utd player. "Alejandro is a really good player and we need good players in the team," Amad said.

"I know Garna really well, so I hope to have Garna next season. It is not really a big issue for the team. Everything is good now."
