Rowdy Ryanair passengers flying on holiday arrested after 'urinating in plane aisle'

Passengers on board a flight were reportedly arrested when their plane landed in causing trouble and allegedly urinating in the aisle.

The , which departed from East Midlands Airport at just after 6am last Monday, was set to land in Tenerife four and a half hours later. Unfortunately, due to a number of unruly passengers, the flight crew was forced to contact Spanish authorities ahead of landing.

During the flight, one passenger reportedly "urinated in the aisle of the plane", while other passengers were being "increasingly disruptive". Although it is not clear how passengers on the flight were being disruptive, a source revealed to Travel and Tour World that ‘one passenger urinated on the floor along the middle of the aisle’.

Ryanair told The Independent: "The crew of this flight from East Midlands to Tenerife (November 4) called ahead for police assistance after a small number of passengers became disruptive onboard. The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Tenerife Airport and these passengers were removed.

Following their passengers being detained by police on arrival in Tenerife, Ryanair said that the situation is ‘now a matter for local police’ to deal with. Reportedly, once the plane had grounded, the trouble-making passengers were escorted from the plane by the airport’s security team.

This comes as Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary revealed that disruption caused by passengers has increased significantly over recent months, with a higher amount of unruly passengers seen during the summer months. He revealed that he believes this disruptive behaviour is linked to an increase in flight delays combined with a growing number of passengers consuming alcohol and drugs before flights.
