Until I Kill You viewers were left feeling emotional as they insisted that lead actress Anna Maxwell Martin deserves an award for her ‘powerful’ performance.
The four-part series first aired on Sunday and viewers have been glued to the crime drama as Anne took on the role of Delia to tell her harrowing story.
The drama details how Delia, an agency nurse from Canada living in London, met carpenter Sweeney in a local pub and began a relationship with him in 1991.
However, things took a dark turn and he ended up attacking her as well as admitting to the murder of his former girlfriend in Amsterdam and disposing of her body in a canal.
During the final episode, which aired on Wednesday (November 6) night, viewers followed the aftermath of Delia being attacked and abused by serial killer John Sweeney.

After surviving with life-changing injuries, she left the hospital and attempted to move on with her life. However, it wasn’t over yet.
Sweeney was eventually arrested for his attacks and Delia later testified against him in court but it wasn’t the outcome she was hoping for, as John was given a light sentence.
As a result, Delia has nightmares and panic attacks, but she’s mostly angry at the way the police have behaved towards her.
Almost a decade later, police in Amsterdam identify Melissa Halstead's body and liaise with officers in London to put a case together and Sweeney later confesses the truth, receiving a sentence of life in prison.
As the series has come to an end, Motherhood star Anna Maxwell Martin has been flooded with praise for her role as Delia and fans wasted no time sharing their reaction online.
