Celebrity SAS star prepares TV comeback months after quitting Channel 4 show over 'tough' regime

Louie Spence has found a show he can handle after giving up on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in August, as he has signed up for a popular series on the BBC.

While Channel 4 viewers know how gruelling the programme can be, the Pineapple Dance Studios star had no idea what it really entailed and walked away from the selection process during the summer.

At the time, a source said that Louie Spence was initially "thrilled" to be taking part in the show but he was horrified by the harsh regime the hunky military men around him had to maintain and knew he wouldn't be able to keep up.

Now the West End star, 55, is gearing up for another appearance on screens as he is due to appear on the latest series of the BBC's Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

A source told The Sun that Louie was "super excited" to join the show's line-up. During the summer, the publication alleged he had left Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after only 24 hours. "Louie was super excited for the opportunity to star on Celeb Antiques Road Trip", an insider said. "These days Louie lives a much calmer life than what many people think as a result of his many showbiz shenanigans over the years so this show was right up his street."

They added: "He had been plotting a major TV comeback on Celeb SAS but after all that went awry, he knew he would be in safe hands giving Antiques Road Trip a go. Bosses at the BBC were delighted to have him on board and know that his one-liners will be TV gold."

Back when his decision to leave Celebrity SAS had been revealed, one source revealed: "He seemed thrilled to be surrounded by all the hunky instructors, who all came from military backgrounds that required them to have an elite level of fitness."

"But he was less enamoured with the regime they had to maintain, with Louie unable to keep up with them physically and mentally. Despite this he left without any bad feeling and was grateful for the opportunity - even though his experience was a brief one." And he wasn't the only one to have decided to leave Celebrity SAS.

Actor John Barrowman quit the show just 32 minutes after he arrived at base camp - and now, he has revealed the real reason why he decided to pack it all in so soon. John, who opened up about the flashing allegations he faced in 2021 while on the show, could be seen throwing up sometime after the first challenge, as reported by PA. After the contestants put on their uniforms and got ready to see their accommodation, Barrowman, started heaving and told the group "I'm out."

The actor was also seen vomiting on the show before his sudden exit. John has nowa claimed that he felt ill as a result of being 'made' to eat 'vile tofu' after no other food was on offer in the camp. Given the fact that John is a big meat eater, and doesn't lead a vegetarian or vegan diet, he said he felt highly sickened after eating the tofu given to him by show bosses.
