Bokaro: Deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav on Monday issued warning to three factories for violationg pollution control norms.
Following complaints from locals, a committee probed the claims and found non-compliance with environmental norms by three companies — M/s Castron Technologies Ltd., M/s Om Sai Industries, and M/s Patil Rail Infrastructure Ltd., operating near near Godawali village under Balidih police station area. The factories have been strictly instructed to immediately adhere to all pollution control norms or face legal action under relevant laws.
The deputy commissioner also directed the regional deputy director of JIADA, Bokaro, and the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board unit, Dhanbad, to regularly monitor these companies to ensure compliance. Jadhav said, "Environmental protection is a top priority. Any industrial unit violating the norms will face strict action without exception." The action was initiated after a wave of complaints from villagers who alleged that the factories were contaminating the environment, severely affecting their health and local ecology. In response, the deputy commissioner formed a joint investigation team comprising officials from the Pollution Control Board, JIADA, and the district administration.
